Installed panels showing H-Header on top and studded track on bottom.

Panels can be installed as pictured above using the  H-header and studded bottom track. This mounting method is by far the best in terms of future setup and removal of your storm panels.

Panel Setup

  1. The panel being installed is first positioned so that it overlaps any previously installed panel at that opening. This interlocks the panels to insure maximum strength and that neither wind nor debris will enter the opening.

  2. The top edge of the panel is then slid into the top H-header track. The bottom edge of the panel then aligns with the bottom studded track. The studded track bolts will then align with the 3 panel holes (located at the bottom of each panel).

  3. The last step is to lock each panel to the bottom track by means of wing nuts screwed onto the protruding bolts.

These panels can also be direct mounted (without tracks) by using anchors and bolts.

Many people choose to intermix the clear and aluminum panels to allow light into the home and to give outside awareness.

Panels, Track and All Mounting Hardware

How to Measure:

Because of how the panels overlap, each panel covers one foot of width. The only panel variable is the length.

All panels have a two (2) inch profile (measurement front to back) and a six (6) inch bolt pattern (distance between each bolt).

When you measure your windows, measure the distance between the top and bottom of the window opening and then add 6 inches.

When you measure your doors, measure the distance between the outside floor (patio) to the top of the door and add 3 inches.

In both cases also measure the width at the widest distance between the left and right walls. The panels need to extend onto the walls on both the left and right of the opening. If you have any questions about your opening, please give us a call.

After you have provided your measurement to us, we will place an order your your specific panels. We also carry a limited supply of stock sizes.
